41 weeks Old

Chloe is now 41 weeks old. She definitely looks more like a little toddler than a little baby now.

Over Labor day weekend, we went to visit our families in SLC.

Our first stop was Aggie's house. As soon as we entered the play area in the basement, right away Chloe headed straight over to the toy section.

As you can see, Chloe is oblivious to the rest of us in the room and is busy playing with these new toys which actually will soon be hers.

Chloe is so happy to see all of these new toys.

Aggie was so happy to meet Chloe. She finally got to hold a little baby girl. Chloe also really enjoyed all the attention.

We left Aggie's house and went to Phil's parents' house. There, Chloe got to meet her other cousins, and of course had more toys to play with.

Chloe is not the youngest in the Johnson family. Sadie is the youngest of all babies.

Chloe got to play with all the toys in the toyroom all by herself the next day. Look at how happy Chloe is!

Once we arrived back home to CO, Chloe was not too happy about unpacking.

As soon as we got back from SLC, Chloe started to get up from a sitting position into a standing position without holding onto anything. Wow...

40 weeks Old!

Chloe is walking along furniture really well and crawling has become something of a second nature to her.

She is still taking two naps per day and sleeps about 11 hours at night. She drinks three, 8oz, bottles of formula in a day with some solids here and there.

Here is Chloe playing. We got this old toy from Phil's co-workers. Apparently that dentist's son who is 25 yo once played with this toy.

Chloe loves to stand by the sliding glass door and wait for the dogs to do their business. She loves to watch them as long as there are barriers. She is hesitant to play with them when they are freely out and about, but when they are both in their kennel, she loves to go over there and play.

She loves to roam around the entire house. Here, she is playing with the keyboard a little bit before she is off to find something else to play with.

39 weeks old!

Chloe always has been an early riser. If we get to sleep past 6:30am these days, then we are sleeping in! But, this week, Chloe has been sleeping until 8am and sometimes we'll even wake her up because she's sleeping past 8. She also has been taking much longer naps during the day. She must be growing.

At her 9 month check up, Chloe weighed in at 19lb 3oz (60%), length at 27.5in (50%), and had a head circumference of 44cm (50%). There were no vaccinations at this visit, just a little prick on her big toe to check her hemoglobin levels.

Chloe loves to smile, giggle, and touch people's faces. She is such a happy baby. She does like to scream a lot though, especially towards the late afternoon/night time as her way of communicating, which hurts our ears.

Chloe has now realized that the camera has bright flashes and so she closes her eyes like this as soon as she spots the camera. She just started to do it this week.

Chloe usually just stands and plays around this excer-saucer, but this week, she actually started to walk around it using the chair on wheels as a walker.




It was very hard to get her to even look at the camera for her nine month old picture. The flash must be really bright to her. She is so silly.


Happy 9 months, Chloe!!

38 weeks old!

Chloe still loves to crawl around everywhere, loves to stand and walk along furniture. We are now waiting for that day when she takes her first step.

Chloe loves to watch what the dogs are doing. Here is Gator begging for food and Chloe is watching intently.

Now, we can't put these pretty headbands on her for more than few seconds, because she takes them right off.

Have we shown Chloe's new sleeping arrangement in the blog yet? This is where Chloe sleeps. This used to be our guest room. Can you spot Chloe? This is how we found her in the morning.

Here is the close up photo of Chloe. She has snuggled up next to Sleepy the dwarf. She sleeps very well in this room for about 11 to 12 hours. Once in awhile, we'll find her on the floor and not on the mattress. We got a good laugh in at this one.

37 weeks old!

Developmentally, there isn't much change this week. Chloe still babbles by herself, crawls around everywhere, and has mastered standing by herself.

We tried Baby Einstein videos this week, and Chloe is glued to the screen while the video is on. I am still iffy about Chloe watching TV, but this was too cute seeing her watching this video. We turn it on when we need to eat dinner so that we don't have to scarf down our food.

This is Chloe and our neighbor friend, Blake. We all went out to eat together. Look at them sitting side by side at the table. So cute!

They are having fun eating their own food. Blake is two and a half months older than Chloe and she is showing Chloe how she can eat blueberries and pizza crust.

The next day, Blake came over for a play date. Look at them, they made a train!

36 weeks old!

Chloe is 36 weeks old and can now crawl very fast. She stands up very easily as long as she has something to push against.

She can also walk along sofa or other furniture.

Chloe's getting two more teeth on the upper arch, but they are not the central incisors. For some unknown reason she is getting her upper laterals before the centrals. She kind of looks like a vampire baby. :)

Chloe's new thing these days is squinting her eyes when she smiles. We don't know where she learned to do that.

Like a good girl, she always brushes her teeth after eating. But, she seems to want to chew on the bottom part of the brush more than she wants to brush.

After work on my late days, I have about 30 minutes to an hour to play with Chloe before she goes down for the night. This is what I look forward to the whole time I'm at work.

35 weeks old!

Chloe is now really cruising around. She has mastered crawling and standing while holding onto something. She walks with us when we hold her hands. She is growing up so fast.

She is enjoying the company of Halmunee and Halahbujee. She smiles all the time and blabs out her own language constantly.

She is also adjusting to her daycare really well. Her teacher says she is pretty clingy for the first 30 minutes and then she plays really well with other children. Right now she loves to touch people's faces and seems to relish being the center of attention.

If one of us is in the room with her, Chloe plays by herself really well. If we leave the room, then she crawls after us and whines.

Chloe is already 8 months old. This was a hard picture to take, because she wouldn't sit still. She wanted to crawl off of the chair.

We just got Chloe's 6 month photo from the photographer. Look at the rolls on her arm!
