It's been a week!

Already, one week has gone by since Chloe was born. She has enriched our lives so much. The feedings every three hours do get tiring sometimes, but all that tiredness goes away when we look into her sweet little eyes. To us she is perfect in every way.
She's been sleeping in her own crib since day 2 and is eating and pooping very well. She does have moments of fussiness, but what child doesn't. Right?
Here are some pictures that we took this week...

Most of her day is spent sleeping, so many of the pictures of Chloe are of her sleeping. Doesn't she look so sweet? I send these photos to Phil while he's at work, so he doesn't miss her too much.

She is all bundled up into a cocoon. She loves to be swaddled.

We were getting ready for our 2nd pediatrician's visit on a very cold and windy day. As you can see, I put her in her cute panda sweater.

When she is not happy, she is very voiceful about it. Her weight went back up to 8lbs 2oz.

She is still not happy when it's time to go home. I think it's the carseat that she doesn't like.

Another picture of her sleeping. She is actually taking a nap on our bed.

Lisa came to visit Chloe. She can't wait to babysit our little one.

Sometimes, she will stay alert for awhile after feeding time, and so we were trying on different hats and then we came across this bow. What do you think? I think she looks cuter with a hat.

Phil helps me out with the nighttime feedings on the days that he can. Well, I got up at 4am to feed Chloe, and she wasn't in her crib. So, I walked into the guest bedroom where we sleep during the nighttime shifts, and this is how I found both of them. Phil says this was the only way she would fall asleep. I love them both so much!!!

Now, she is asleep in her own crib.

And sometimes, she will wake up without crying and just lay in her crib all content. Isn't she awesome?

We tried out the swing for the first time. She liked it, but didn't sit in it for too long.

Here is another picture of her just alert and happy as she can be.

We promise this is not staged. She was in this position just after her feeding all on her own. She is super cute.
Hope you enjoyed the photos. As promised, I'll continue to post photos of Chloe weekly.

Chloe's Arrival

It's been 41 weeks and finally the signs of Chloe's arrival has come. Contractions started on November 24th at 1am and we labored most of it at home and finally arrived at the hospital at 1am on November 25th. Just as I got admitted to the labor and delivery room, my water broke.
After 4 more hours of closer and more intense contractions, and 25 minutes of pushing, Chloe arrived. Chloe Rae Johnson was born on November 25th, 2010 at 5:53am, on this year's Thanksgiving day.

Here is Chloe being weighed for the first time. Her official birth weight....a whopping 8 lbs 9 ounces!

Chloe is all cleaned up and wrapped into a little package! She was very alert for the first 2 hours...looking around and everything.

My doula, Penny, got to hold Chloe for the first time. Phil and I are so thankful for Penny. We wouldn't have made it through this experience as well as we did without her. Thank you, Penny!!!

Here is my super energetic OB, Dr. Brashear. It's hard to see, but the right side bin holds the placenta. It was way bigger than I thought it would be.

Chloe was taken away for her vaccinations and her first sponge bath. I didn't get to see it, but Phil says she did awesome. When she was brought back, she looked even cuter than before!

We are now in our recovery room. Chloe was now able to snooze, but I still had too much adrenaline pumping through me to take a nap.

Here is the proud dad. Phil was also too excited to sleep even though he was (almost) as tired as I was.

Chloe nursed for the first time. She fell asleep again as soon as she was done. We still can't tell who she looks more like, me or Phil.

Chloe is 1 day old now.

Both Chloe and I were doing so well that we were given the option to go home instead of spending another night at the hospital. Of course, we jumped on that. There is no better place than home, right? Here is Chloe in her "going home" outfit.

This outfit also comes with this sweater/sweatpant set.

She did surprisingly well strapped down in her car seat.

Here is Chloe hanging out with her dad before going to bed. Gator and Ali got to say "hi" for the first time. It may take couple of days for them to realize that Chloe is here to stay!

1st visitor/ 3 days old
Jeanette, one of the hygienists at our dental practice, was too anxious to and wanted to see Chloe asap. Chloe also had her first Pediatrician's visit in the morning. She weighed in at 7 pounds and 13 ounces. She cried a little, but overall did really well.

More sleep...
She is actually alert more lately, but still, most of her time is spent sleeping.

We will try to update more pictures weekly. Stay tuned for more cute pictures of Chloe.

First Doctor's Check-Up

It is official! We have a baby growing in my belly!
On April 7th, 2010, we went in for our first doctor's visit.

This is the first ultrasound photo of our baby. We heard the heartbeat, but the baby was measuring a whole week smaller, so we went in for another ultrasound a week later.

As you can see, the baby has tripled in size and even though it was still measuring small, the doctor gave us a big okay sign saying that the baby is growing well and that there is nothing to worry about.

We carried on our normal routines.
Here is Phil feeding Gator and Ali.

Here is my dad feeding Gator and Ali. They are getting spoiled as much as possible now, because they may not get much attention when the real baby comes. Hopefully not...

Right before my parents went back to Florida, we took them to the Rockies game.

My parents are sitting in our season tix seats. We couldn't get all four seats next to each other, so Phil and I sat few rows behind them.

Yum... Is it just me, or are bbq ribs yummier at the ballpark?

Yeah! The Rockies won! My parents want to come back in August or September for another Rockies experience.

So, my pregnancy was going really well until I hit the 9th week, when nausea hit me everyday after 6pm. But, that didn't stop me from too much. I still worked, ate, and played. But, throwing up everynight started to get old fast.

Here is a cute picture of Ali. Where she is sitting at is our laundry room/Gator and Ali's feeding space. Gator is basically finished with his food as soon as we put down the bowl, but Ali takes her sweet time. This photo was taken about 5 minutes after we gave them both their dinner and then we were out in the living room watching TV. We still hadn't seen Ali come out yet so we peeked around the corner to find her sitting at the doorway just like this. I think she is so cute, but Phil continues to say that she struggles.

We also went to a Nuggets vs Jazz playoff game despite my nauseousness. We were too excited to go, so there was no way that we were going to miss the game. I had to hurry and find a trash can in the parking garage to throw up, but I felt so much better afterwards that we were able to stay until the end of the game. Phil had the total control of the camera this night, and only pictures that I have from the game are Jazz players.

And that pretty much sums up our April!

We are pregnant

Hi, everyone. I'm sorry for the long absence. I guess I've been a little lazy.
After waiting month after month, and after all those home pregnancy tests I've bought, we finally saw the two lines that we've been waiting for.
I know, it's hard to see the two lines. So, I took my friend Susie's suggestion and got another pregnancy test. This one is truly fool proof.
We were so excited. March 13th was the day that we found out that we are going to be parents. And coincidentally, my parents were coming for a visit on the 15th. Phil and I had decided to not tell anyone until at least confirmed by the doctor, which wasn't scheduled until April 7th. But, I couldn't keep the news from my parents who were staying here for weeks. They were super excited as well. It was a great way to celebrate our news.

We celebrated with yummy Mexican food.

Ooh, look at that burrito. We love green chile smothered burritos...
We were actually down at Colorado Springs for the weekend and visited ancient Indian Cliff Dwellings.
It was amazing to think that people actually lived here. Here are some more photos.

The weather warmed up where we didn't need big coats anymore. I've been watching this show called Man vs. Food on the travel channel and I learned about this best burger place in Denver.
As you can see, we are dressed lightly and also enjoying the warm sun.

We went in to get burgers, but the wings on the menu caught our attention. Since it was our first time trying it, we went for bbq with ranch (semi screamin'). They were some of the best wings we've ever had. Next time, we think we can brave the screaming', because the ones we got were not screamin' in our opinion. They were delicious though.
Everytime, I look at this picture, my mouth waters up. I can't wait to go back there. It is in Denver's Cherry Creek area and is called Cricket Burgers.

Before my parents left us to go see Aggie's family, we took them to Nuggets game. I think it was my parent's first NBA game they've been to.
My mom, especially loved it. She told us that she definitely wants to go back to see another game.
That's all for March.
